Its a chain and they serve to the masses. However, I did find the Schwarzbier very well balanced and tasty. They honored my American Homebrewers card which was a plus. Food was decent. They only have a handful on tap to enjoy, but at least one of them I could enjoy a few more of. I did not care for the marzen at all.

I am never disappointed in GB's beers. They had a pils on called Czech that was very good.

This is the latest installment in the Gordon Biersch chain and the fifth that I have visited. As with all of these establishments, there is a serious effort to provide a quality dining and beer enjoyment experience. The food is quite good (both lunch & dinner menus) and features the standard GB offerings plus some local variations. The beers are up to the GB standards but the variety is somewhat disappointing -- they have the standard maerzen, golden, wheat and pils. The one notable exception is that they brew a schwarzbier that is both relatively light (in alcohol content) and extremely flavorfull. The brewmaster is approachable and knowledgable, and promises more interesting variety in their seasonal offerings. Overall, I would recommend a visit here whenever you are in the Tysons Corner area.
